Visitor Services

Be on the front lines and represent the National Historic District at the Strayer House/New Market Visitor Center, at the James R. Wilkins Winchester Battlefields Visitor Center at the Third Winchester Battlefield Park, and the Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum in downtown Winchester.

Battlefield Maintenance

Help maintain our many battlefields throughout the Valley by assisting with trails, landscaping, tree removal, trash clean ups, interpretive sign and historic fence maintenance, monument cleanings, brush removal, etc.

Library & Archives

Assist at the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields National Historic District Library located at the Strayer House in New Market by inventorying, accessioning, and cataloging the rapidly growing library of books and magazines all pertaining to the American Civil War. One can also assist by transcribing, researching, documenting, cataloging, and photographing the thousands of letters, documents, photographs and physical objects in the SVBF collection.
