The Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation's 2025 National Civil War Conference will focus on the actions during the summer of 1864, which includes tours of Cool Spring, Rutherford’s Farm, Kernstown, Summit Point, Cameron’s Depot, Charles Town, Halltown, Shepherdstown, Leetown, Kearneysville, and Smithfields Crossing.
The conference, which will be held from April 3-5, 2025, will be headquartered at the George Washington Hotel in Winchester, Virginia. A block of rooms has been reserved; if you would like to stay at the George Washington Hotel, let them know you’ll be with us.
The conference will include talks, special events, and battlefield tours, all featuring the finest historians in the nation, including Gary Ecelbarger, Scott Patchan, Steve Phan, Ryan Quint, Terry Heder, Jon Erik-Gilot and more!
The cost for the full conference is $345 for Battlefields Foundation members, $395 for non-members. A la carte registration for individual days is also available. (Thursday $130, Friday $135, Saturday $130).

Thursday (April 3, 2025)
7:00am: Conference check-in opens. Breakfast on your own.
9:00am-5:00pm: Bus Tour - Cool Spring, Rutherford’s Farm and Second Kernstown (Guides: Scott Patchan and Gary Ecelbarger) Lunch included.
6:00pm: Dinner on your own and a free evening to explore Winchester and the surrounding area
7:30pm-9:30pm: Members Only Reception at the Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum
Friday (April 4, 2025)
8:00am: Conference check-in opens. Breakfast on your own.
