“Wreathed in Battle Smoke”: Civil War Walking Tour of New Market

Join SVBF Park Ranger Wade Custer for a downtown walking tour of historic New Market which focuses on the Battle of New Market (fought on May 15, 1864) - covering both the battle as it swept through the town and the individual stories of the soldiers and civilians who were caught up in the dramatic events.

Cost: Free, No Registration Required

Location: Tours begin at 11am in front of the Stayer House (SVBF HQ), located at 9386 S. Congress St. in the center of downtown New Market (intersection of US-11 and US-211)
