Our Hour Had Come: New Market, Piedmont, and the Lynchburg Campaign

The Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation's 2024 National Civil War Conference will focus on the 1864 Lynchburg Campaign, which included the dramatic battles of Cloyd’s Mountain, New Market, Piedmont, and Lynchburg, as well as the systematic destruction of Hunter's Raid, including the burning of VMI.
The conference, which will be held from April 11-13, 2024, will be headquartered at the Hotel Madison in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
The conference will include talks, special events, and battlefield tours of New Market and Piedmont, all featuring the finest historians in the nation, including Gary L. Ecelbarger, Charles R. Knight, Scott C. Patchan, David A. Powell, Greg Starbuck, Keven M. Walker, and more.
The cost for the full conference is $440 for SVBF members, $415 for non-members. A la carte registration for individual days is also available; please see below.

Cost: $415 for SVBF Members, $440 for Non-Members for full conference. $225 each for individual days (Friday and Saturday). Thursday can be added at no additional cost with paid registration for another day. Please note: there is a 3% transaction fee for online ticket purchases. Pre-registration is required. Registration will be limited to the first 150 people.

7:30am: Buffet Breakfast Hotel Madison.
9am-5pm: Speaker's Programs with Charles R. Knight, Scott C. Patchan, David A. Powell, and Greg Starbuck. (Additional speakers to be announced.) Lunch will be provided.
6:00pm: Awards Banquet with Host Keven Walker
Saturday (April 13, 2024)
6:30am: Buffet Breakfast at the Hotel Madison.
8am-5pm: Bus Tour - The Battle of New Market. (Guides: Gary Ecelbarger, Charles Knight, and Scott Patchan.) Lunch included.
6:00pm: Closing Dinner at the Hotel Madison.
Cost
The cost for the full conference is $415 for SVBF Members and $440 for Non-Members. The cost for individual days (Friday and Saturday) is $225 each day. Individual registration for Thursday is free with paid registration to another day.
Location and Lodging
The conference will be headquartered at the Hotel Madison, located at 1710 South Main Street, Harrisonburg, Virginia. Lodging is not included with your registration.
